Chromotogrophy Crime Scene

On Tuesday, February 27 at around 7:30 am there was a bank robbery. One hundred thousand dollars was stolen from the Buttery Money Bank.  A note was left on the front  door of the bank from the robber saying, “ Pardon the inconvenience, please deposit the cash in the bag”.

The Buttery Money Bank was not the safest of all of the banks, and definitely not the most popular bank in town. The bank didn’t hold all of it’s money digitally, it kept all it’s money in a locked room. I definitally wasn’t very smart of them, but the bank is called the Buttery Money Bank. With a very few amount of customers per day, people started to wonder how it kept staying in buesnes. The banks only had about 20 regular costumers per day. Six of them happened to be there the morning of the robbery. There was Mavis Salinger, Joyce Ann Perrin, Reggie Chatworth, Rocky Charger, Vinnie Trally, and I.C.YooToo.  So, because there was only six people at the bank the morning of the robbery, one of them had to be the robber. We took all of them in and each one told us what they were doing the morning of the robbery. Coincidentally, each one of the suspects had a note, that they were going to give to someone that morning, including the Robber.

The first suspect we took in was a thirteen year old boy named Vinnie Trally. He told the detectives that all he did that morning was that he woke up, took a shower and got ready for school. He wrote a note the night before to a girl he had a crush on asking her if she liked him. Before school, his mom, Joyce Ann Perrin said that she needed to go to the bank. So, he sat down in the buttery leather chairs while her mom got some money. He said that he wasn’t paying attention to what she was doing after she left him. He said that about 10 minutes later she came and back and they both left and went to school.

The 2nd suspect was Reggie Chatworth III, a spy

His story was that he was there to get some money for his spy agency. That is all we got out of him.

3rd suspect was I.C.YooToo the rockstar

He didn’t tell them either. He just kept raving about how awesome his new hit single was going to be, and how his girlfriend was going to buy him a new guitar after this. when the detectives sked hat he was doing t the bank that morning, he said, in quotes, “Uhh well duh, to get money!”.

4th suspect was Joyce Ann Perrin, a mom, and homemaker.

She was the mom of Vinnie Trally (she kept her madden name) Her story was much like her son’s, but there were a few differences. She said that she woke up, showered and got ready to take her son to school. She said that the reason she went to the bank was to get gas on the  way to drop her son off at school. She also said that when she entered the bank, it only took her two minutes to get the money, Vinnie said it took her well over ten.

The 5th suspect was Mavis Salinger, computer repair woman.

Mavis was around the age of 50, the eldest of all of the suspects. She told us that she was in a hurry to get to her work that morning. She said that she got up, threw some clothes on and rushed to the bank. When she was asked why she had to go to the bank that morning, she said that she had to deposit a check from her last client.

The 6th suspect was Rocky Charger, a delivery man.

Rocky was the most sane out of all of them. His story was that he was about to start his daily rounds and just needed to get $100 for his food for the week.

There were a few things that the detectives noticed. Joyce Ann Perrin and Vinnie Trally, came to the bank together, yet had different sides of the story. Joyce said that she was getting money from the bank to get gas before she took Vinnie to school. Vinnie said that after they went to the bank Joyce took him strait to school. The detectives also noticed that Vinnie had said that it took his mom more than 10 minutes to get some money, and Joyce said it took her under 2. From hearing this, the detectives almost positive Joyce Ann Perrin was the Robber. But, just to make sure they called the chromatography detectives to study the notes of the robber and each suspect had on them.

When the chromatography detectives arrived, they set up cups of rubbing alcohol and cut pieces of the notes to dip in. After they let each of them sit for a while they knew who the Robber was. It was Joyce Ann Perrin, but they found  that there had been someone helping her. That person was  Reggie Chatworth III, the spy.

The detectives called Joyce and Reggie in, and asked them many questions. They found out that Reggie was one of Joyce’s clients and heard that she was planning to Rob the bank, and he wanted in. He thought that because he was a spy, no one would suspect that he was one of the robbers.

Both Joyce and Reggie got sentenced for 5 years in prison. Vinnie moved in with his aunt, Mavis Salinger, a computer repair woman. The Buttery Money Bank was closed a year later, because of their poor security.
