Religion Project Update Week 4
This was the last full week of my Voodoo project. I am very proud of myself for all of the effort I put into this project. This week, I started making the ritual video and got all of the filming done. I really switched my focus from writing my essay and posting spells and rituals to filming and editing my movie.
I think that the the hardest part of the video making was the preparation process and deciding What was necessary to show. First of all I had to make a “fake” Voodoo Doll out of wooden sticks and cloth. Also, I had to use ashes to bury in soil. Although this was difficult to accomplish, I think that it was the most fun part of the whole week.
The first thing I had to do for the movie was to write a planing sheet. This involved what I needed to bring, the scenes, and the script for the video. I wrote “planning sheet” on Monday and Monday night. Tuesday I started to film. I mostly filmed at school but there were a few scenes that needed a blank background which those I filmed at home. I finished filming early on Thursday and for the rest of the day started editing. There was and still is a lot of scenes to edit.
Tomorrow I will finish the voice over for the movie. This will probably take the whole day since we only have half of the usual time we get to work on our projects. I have done about half of the editing and will finish it hopefully this weekend. I really enjoy editing movies, espesally when it is my own.
I still have to get my essay edited by at least two more people. I had it edited by two already and hope to have the rest read through it on Monday. Also, I have to make my bibliography in the MLA format. I hope to finish that either over the weekend or on Monday.
I think that I acomplished a lot for this project, espesally this week, considering that I worked alone. For the past two projects I was in a group of three and in my opinion they both turned out amazing. This project so far is probally not going to be the best of the two, only because I was working alone and because of the time limet. I still am very proud of my work and I am very exited to share on Tuesday.
